Duties
and Responsibilities: Acupuncture,
a traditional Chinese medical art practiced for more than 5,000 years, involves
inserting fine needles at points on the body's surface to influence
physiological functions. Acupuncture practitioners treat a wide range of
physical and psychological conditions and provide support for patients with
chronic diseases. They can work in a variety of settings, including in private
practice and hospitals. Most acupuncturists have master's degrees or graduate
certificates from accredited acupuncture programs

Education:
The School of Acupuncture and
Oriental Medicine offers year-round educational opportunities with an academic
calendar based on 3 semesters per year. New students may enrol every January,
May and September and students may either choose to pursue year-round studies
or to take a semester or more off at their discretion. By choosing their course
load each semester, students may complete any semester on a part-time or a
full-time basis.
