LAUSD: Families
1.
·         National Nurses Week
·         May is National Mental Health Awareness Month
·         Graduation Rates in L.A. Unified Schools Top Expectations
2.
·         LAUSD School Nursing Services is a vital part of student academic success and achievement. We integrate our services with our Student Health and Human Services (SHHS) colleagues and partners-Pupil Services, School Mental Health and Student Medical Services-and with Special Education services providers, allowing all students equal opportunity to actively participate and contribute to their academic program.
·         During this month, there is a focus on increasing the awareness about mental health, promoting well-being, and fighting the stigma of mental illness as well as mental health treatment. When the term “mental health” is used, many people have negative thoughts of what this refers to.  Mental health relates to our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It ranges on a continuum from well-being to mental illness.

·         For comprehensive high schools, the typical option for students in the ninth through 12th grade, final graduation rate of nearly 82 percent is higher than the 77 percent previously released.
